HubSpot is a platform for CRM, marketing, sales and service. If you want an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to work with HubSpot data, the first question is: is there an MCP server for it?

In short

Yes. HubSpot runs an official MCP server for all accounts and offers ready-made connectors for Claude and ChatGPT. Important for data protection: HubSpot uses customer data to train its own AI models by default; you can turn that off.

What HubSpot offers itself

The MCP server. According to the HubSpot changelog, the server at mcp.hubspot.com is generally available to all HubSpot accounts. Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The assistant sees and does only what the user may do in HubSpot.

Connectors for Claude and ChatGPT. According to HubSpot, the Claude connector can view, create and update records, but not delete them. It needs a paid Claude plan.

Data location. According to HubSpot, it runs on AWS in the US, Canada, Australia and the EU (Germany). Each account sits in one of these data centres.

AI training. According to HubSpot, it uses customer data to train its own AI models. The setting is on by default; Super Admins can turn it off. HubSpot does not allow third-party AI providers to train on customer data.

What the community offers

There are many HubSpot MCP servers on GitHub, most of them older than the official one. Zapier and viaSocket also offer HubSpot actions through their own MCP servers. With the official server, most companies need none of them.

What this means for your company

  • Check the AI training setting before you connect HubSpot to AI tools.
  • Decide who may connect the connector and whether assistants may create and change records.
  • With an account in the EU data centre, the HubSpot data stays there. What reaches the AI assistant falls under its terms.
