dectria integrates Stripe into web applications, apps and platforms: one-off payments, subscriptions, usage-based billing and marketplaces where payments flow to several providers. We process payment events via webhooks and transfer them reliably into your own systems.

We run Stripe in production ourselves: Campivio, a booking platform for campsites in which dectria holds a stake, processes payments with Stripe and distributes them to the campsites with Stripe Connect.

We choose the simplest option that meets your requirements – from a payment link to a fully embedded payment form.

What is Stripe – and when is it worth it?

Stripe is a payment platform through which applications accept cards, SEPA direct debits and local payment methods, bill subscriptions and control payouts to third parties.

Stripe is worth it when payments are part of your application: bookings, subscriptions, usage-based billing or platforms with several providers. It is not worth it when you send a few invoices paid by bank transfer or your shop system already covers payments – then a custom integration is unnecessary effort.

Stripe FAQ

Which payment methods does Stripe support in Austria?

Credit and debit cards, SEPA direct debit, EPS, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus further payment methods that can be enabled in the Stripe dashboard. Stripe can automatically choose which ones to show based on the customer's country and device.

How do subscriptions and recurring payments work?

With Stripe Billing, we set up plans, bill monthly, annually or by usage, and prorate plan changes. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it automatically and notifies the customer. In the customer portal, customers manage payment details and invoices themselves.

What does Stripe mean for data protection and PCI?

For businesses in the EU, the contracting party is Stripe Payments Europe, based in Ireland. With Checkout or the Payment Element, card data never reaches your servers but goes directly to Stripe – this keeps your effort for the PCI DSS card security standard low. We adapt your privacy policy together with you.

How do payments get into our systems?

Via webhooks: Stripe reports every event, such as a successful payment or a cancellation, to your application. We process these notifications so that duplicate deliveries do not create duplicate bookings, and we reconcile payments with your accounting or ERP.

Can Stripe distribute payments to several providers?

Yes, with Stripe Connect. The platform receives the payment, keeps its fee and pays the rest out to the connected providers. Stripe handles the providers' identity verification. This is also how Campivio works with its connected campsites.
