Render is a cloud platform for web services, static sites, cron jobs and databases. If you want an AI assistant such as Claude Code or Cursor to check deploys and read logs, the first question is: is there an MCP server for it?

In short

Yes. Render runs an official MCP server that reads services, logs and metrics and can create new services. Deleting and scaling are deliberately not possible through it.

What Render offers itself

The MCP server. According to the Render docs, it runs at https://mcp.render.com/mcp. Sign-in uses OAuth with the official plugins, for example for Claude Code and Cursor, or an API key. The server reads workspaces, services, deploys, logs, metrics and databases. On Render Postgres it runs only read-only SQL queries. It can create web services, static sites, cron jobs and databases, trigger deploys and change environment variables. The code is open on GitHub.

Regions. According to Render, services run in Oregon, Ohio, Virginia, Frankfurt or Singapore. You choose the region when you create a service.

What the community offers

According to its README, niyogi/render-mcp can do more than the official server, including deleting resources. That is exactly why it is the riskier choice for a team.

What this means for your company

  • For debugging and logs, the official server is a good start.
  • The server can change environment variables, which includes credentials. Give it only to people who may do that in Render.
  • For personal data, choose the Frankfurt region.
