Holzindustrie Kirnbauer is a family-owned company from Lower Austria specializing in timber trading and processing.
Challenge
Employees had to manually transfer photos from mobile devices to company servers multiple times daily. Additionally, there was no wireless solution for connecting barcode scanners to office PCs — Bluetooth was unreliable in the industrial environment.
Solution
Two custom mobile applications were developed:
Sync App: Automatically transfers photos via SMB protocol to company servers. This eliminates manual data transfer entirely and significantly speeds up the image processing workflow in the office.
Barcode Interface App: Enables rugged Android devices with built-in barcode scanners to wirelessly transmit scanned codes to connected PCs over the network, without Bluetooth limitations.
The automation frees employees from routine data transfer tasks and optimizes the entire image processing workflow.
